Requirements - Start New service online & by phone


Customer cannot be in late or bad debt status.

  1. The meter at the address the customer is moving into cannot be in a locked status.
  2. Customer will need to allow at least 24 hours for new service to be turned on from the date of receiving the application. (Monday through Friday)
  3. Once we receive your application, a CSR will contact you by phone to validate at a later date.
  4. If opening a business account, please notify the Department of Development services at 361-485-3320 and request a New account application for a Name change and/or Commercial Inspection.

Once the application is approved, please fill out the Utility Billing business application to start your water and sewer service.
