The former Sears space at the Victoria Mall will soon be open to customers once again.

PHOTO #2: This map provided by 5 State Helicopters shows the area where the heavy-lift helicopter company will be operating May 9 at Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply.
The ongoing construction will include the use of a heavy-lift helicopter 8 a.m.-noon May 9.
The helicopter will be used to lift HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) materials onto the roof of the building. The helicopter will fly back and forth between the roof and a nearby staging area.
The rest of the Victoria Mall will remain open and accessible. Residents should not attempt to enter the area where the helicopter is operating.
How does the City attract retailers?
Although the City does not choose which retailers and restaurants come to Victoria, the City plays an active role in retail recruitment through its Economic Development department.
The recruitment of Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply was made possible by a Chapter 380 sales tax rebate agreement between the City and Hull Property Group, which owns the Victoria Mall and the nearby restaurant pad sites. This agreement also played a key role in Hull’s recruitment of Longhorn Steakhouse, which was announced in February.
As part of the agreement, Hull Property Group is investing more than $5 million in renovations at the Victoria Mall property, which is expected to help attract new retailers.
